Editorial Reviews:
There is plenty of literature available that focuses on how to write a resume. There is also an abundance of information available on how to answer the “pat” interview questions. However – until now – it has been very difficult to find one source that put the whole job search/interview process together in one compre-hensive, step-by-step guide. The Art of Effective Interviewing will teach you how to become more successful and help you secure your dream job. From start to finish (prospecting the right opportunity, surviving the phone interview, making an effective presentation, to winning the job offer and negotiating terms), this book will show you how to work your way through the process – and the job search is just that – a process. Within that process there are several steps and if you understand and control the process you are much more likely to win the job offer. Although the job search can be stressful and school doesn’t really prepare us for it, it is a process to be embraced. The result of any job search has the potential to impact our day-to-day lives for a number of years. Job changes are exciting and present great opportunity. I love the job search and the interview process more than any job that I have ever had. This I consider a gift… I would like to share this gift with you.

Great for people just entering the work force and great for people that are looking to brush up on there skills, and learn how to get the new job they are after. Before searching for a job this is a must read!..Enjoy Customer Rating: Summary: Simple and Effective Comment: I read this book in one sitting. It's short, informal, easy to navigate. I appreciated its focus. Other books on the job search present a fair amount of extraneous advice which may or may not come in handy, but you could read this one before an interview and it would be like getting a pep talk from an expert. I'll read this one again! Customer Rating: Summary: Great Ideas for Job hunting and interviewing Comment: This book really helped me get the job I wanted. It has great info for how to win the interview battle. Also great info on resume writing and phone calls etc. Customer Rating: Summary: A must NOT have. Comment: For a $13 paperback, you're not getting your money's worth. I read the book in just over an hour during a meeting. I found little of the information new and insightful. If you went to college, you already know all of this. Even high school grads who have taken business or interview prep courses already know all of this. If you have not taken an interview prep course or read an article on interview prep then this may be for you. Just ignore all the errors in grammar as apparently no one proof read this book.
