Summary: Everything I expected and more!
Comment: I am starting a guitar tutoring business and found this book on Amazon. As it turned out this book was just what I needed to get new, creative ideas on how to get started with minimal investment.
As an added bonus, the author was true to her word and actually answered emails with suggestions directed to my personal situation.

Summary: trust the critical review
Comment: I ordered this book despite the critical review posted, but have to say how, consider this review. The book is ok, but would be better called "how to start a 5 K business in the local service sector", because it is heavily focused on real estate and other service activities, such as career counseling. There is also a fair bit of very blunt advertising of specific online providers, business card printers and such, which is ok, but a couple of alternative suggestions would make me feel better. I am interested in starting a craft business and to sell nationwide through the Internet, and for my questions it is simply not the right book. If you want to become a local mortgage broker, it might be exactly what you need.

Summary: I am very skeptical about these reviews...
Comment: As a stay-at-home mother considering beginning a new business in order to pay for my children's college tuitions, I was about to order this book based on its high reviews.
However, the first thing I noticed about those reviews is that they all used "real names"--not a common occurance for many items, as you likely know if you are a regular shopper with Amazon. I then took a gander at the "other reviews" of the reviewers, and realized the vast majority of the reviewers have reviewed this book alone, and no other books. Suspicious! Is someone making up profiles, having their friends vote for their book, etc. in order to boost the ratings (and therefore viability of this item) or what?
For this issue alone, I am going to pass on this book. I do not feel I can trust these reviews!

Comment: Marilyn Sweet's book provides incredibly useful, practical and helpful strategies to start one's own business. I am in the midst of starting my own fitness business and have found everything I need to know in this book. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to start his or her own business.
